A Holistic Approach: Conquering Seasonal Spring Allergies

We are around the corner, and spring is officially here! Noticing sudden nasal congestion, scratching your irritated eyes, itchy throats, headaches, coughing, and more are all signs of allergy season, known as spring! People are prone to spend more time outdoors, enjoying the sights of blossoming flowers, trees branching out, and birds chirping with the arrival of spring.

Particularly during this time of the year, people with seasonal allergies often feel worse being outside due to weather changes, pollen, and many more factors. For the most part, in preparing for allergy season, we are either stocking up with nasal sprays, tissues, or over-the-medications to help with allergies. Acupuncture offers a valuable alternative approach to conquering allergies preventability & proactively!

What Triggers Seasonal Allergies?

Typically seasonal allergies are caused by environmental airborne allergens such as pollen, dust mites, mold, grass, trees, and ragweed. As winter turns into springtime, plants blossom and release pollen into the air.

Weather changes can contribute to seasonal allergies because new allergens are introduced when the weather is constantly changing and can have higher concentrations. Therefore, when it is dry, humid, or windy, pollen is usually tossed around and blown into the air, causing people to sneeze, have nasal congestion, hay fever, and more reactions.

How Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Can Help With Allergy Symptoms?

Acupuncture will expand your knowledge of taking advantage of your body’s natural medicines by returning the body to remember how to thrive again through self-healing and regulation.

Acupuncture will not only relieve allergy symptoms but also strengthen the immune system, making your body less vulnerable to allergens outside and preventing allergic reactions.
