Melissa Stein is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist certified by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine. She received her training from the New England School of Acupuncture where she graduated in 2006. Upon graduation she co-founded Northampton Community Acupuncture where she worked for several years providing community acupuncture treatments in her office as well as in local behavioral and detoxification clinics. Since moving back to the Boston area, she’s worked in private practice, but joined the team at Acupuncture Connections in 2013 to work in a collaborative team setting.
Besides treating patients with acupuncture and herbs, Melissa regularly teaches workshops at the clinic on nutrition, movement, hormone balance, sleep and meditation as well as writing articles for our website on a wide range of health and wellness topics. She is an avid reader and self-proclaimed ‘nerd’ on all topics of health, wellness and personal development. She is passionate about the use of food as medicine and often speaks about this topic during workshops and with patients in the clinic.
Melissa also has over ten years experience as a deep tissue massage therapist and certified yoga instructor, skills that she brings to her work as an acupuncturist. She has post-graduate training in Kiiko-style Japanese acupuncture, Dr. Tan’s balance method and advanced studies in the treatment of infertility through acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Melissa lives with her husband and three children in Maynard, where she enjoys gardening, hiking and building community in her new home!
